A mature oak tree had it's trunk snapped about 20 feet from the ground.   A marathon bramble clearing session today in preparation for the new wildflower area. Here's the team on completion of a prickly job.  Excellent turn out this morning for the first work party of our 20th season. Some fine coppicing and expert dead hedge weaving was in evidence. Re-visiting where we started 20 years ago.     Burrow Contractors completed the final (?) part of the drainage project today down at the lower footbridge.    It's Easter weekend and the bluebells are starting to reach their full magnificence.   Another excellent turn out and a very productive morning planting 42 metres of hedge.  Best attendance of the year today (20!) for an enjoyable morning of coppicing and planting hazel.  It takes more than a little bit of snow to stop us enjoying our coffee & biscuits!  |
