Two photos taken today that show what happens to ground flora when rampant holly growth is left unchecked and also when managed through a regular coppicing regime.

I would say that the bluebells are just about at their best now. Go and see them at the weekend when you have the chance.
I expect the bluebells will be at their best in four or five days now. Get down there and see them while you can!
Although I did spot the first bluebell in flower today the real "star" of the show at the moment is the wood anemone. An indicator species for ancient woodland we are lucky to have carpets of these 'windflowers' in shadier parts of The Copse.
